This collection captures what is familiar to us from a slightly skewed angle and point of view. Most of the photographs are from my travels, capturing fleeting, passing moments.
The collection is divided between two locations. Come to both locations to view the entire collection!

"Come see the non-traditional application of the age-old medium of watercolor to current events, and the modern sensibilities of today's emerging artists. It is our chance to show the community the talent, diversity and importance of having a class in a medium suited to practicality and commerce, as well as inner vision and expression. Accessible education is an institution worth saving."
- Mark Leavitt, Berkeley City College Art Department Instructor
Curated by Mark Leavitt and myself, Watercolor Retrospective Show features work by 16 artists from Berkeley City College including mine. Come and meet the artists at the opening reception of our exhibition at the Jerry Adams Gallery on the first floor of Berkeley City College on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. Invite family, friends, colleagues and art lovers for a night of amazing art, inspiring conversations, and delectable treats. There will also be an art sale.
Our book, Watercolor Retrospective Show, serves as a companion piece to our exhibition and chronicles the last—until further notice—Watercolor class at Berkeley City College. It is now available for sale at MagCloud. Proceeds of the online book sale will be used to order books for key Peralta Community Colleges and Berkeley City College Administrators and Faculty. We'd like to get an overwhelming show of interest in the show and the book with hopes that our watercolor class will be reinstated next year. See you on October 19!
If you have any questions, email me at micdbernardo@gmail.com.

Mauve? Office of Exhibition celebrates its 3rd anniversary with Out To Lunch, a month-long art exhibition. Featuring local artists who have shown at Mauve? in the past year, working in a variety of media including photography, installation, performance, beaded embroidery, drawing, writing, screen prints, and digital prints, the show looks to suggest the playful elements of the office work day: daydreams, small escapes, vacations, vices, snacks, reappropriation of office supplies.
